Manimahesh Kailash, one of the five sacred Kailash peaks believed to be the abodes of Lord Shiva, is located in the Bharmour sub-division of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, India. Revered by devotees and trekkers alike, this holy mountain holds deep spiritual significance.

The name "Manimahesh" means "Jewel of Lord Shiva." According to local belief, during sunrise, when the first rays of the sun strike the peak of Manimahesh Kailash, a dazzling reflection resembling a gem becomes visible. This divine spectacle is the reason behind the name "Manimahesh" (Mani meaning gem and Mahesh being another name for Shiva).

Due to its location, it is also referred to as Chamba Kailash.

    Arrival at Pathankot and Transfer to Bharmour

    Upon arrival at Pathankot, the nearest railway station, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. From there, embark on a scenic drive to Bharmour via Chamba, covering approximately 180 kilometers. The journey takes around 8 hours by road, offering picturesque views along the way.

    Once you arrive in Bharmour, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. You may spend your leisure time exploring the town or visiting the famous 84 Chaurasi Temple, located at the heart of Bharmour. This ancient temple complex, built over 1400 years ago, holds great religious significance and is a perfect spot for spiritual reflection.

    Trek from Hadsar to Dhancho

    Start your day early with a hearty breakfast served by our team to fuel up for the trek ahead. After checking out from the hotel, we’ll drive to Hadsar, a small village nestled among mountains, located about 30 minutes from Bharmour. Hadsar marks the end of the accessible road and the beginning of our trekking journey.

    From Hadsar, we embark on a scenic trek to Dhancho, which will take approximately 6 to 8 hours depending on weather conditions. Along the way, we will take frequent breaks to ensure a comfortable and steady pace for everyone.

    After a few hours of trekking and enjoying a hearty meal together, we will proceed towards a charming brick bridge that leads to the stunning Dhancho Waterfall. Our campsite will be set up nearby, where we will relax and spend the night amidst nature’s tranquility.

    Trek to Manimahesh Lake and Overnight Stay at Gauri Kund Base Camp

    After a wholesome breakfast, pack your bags and carry a packed lunch as we set out on today’s trek to the breathtaking Manimahesh Lake. The trail takes you through a vibrant valley adorned with colorful wildflowers, diverse trees, and shrubs, offering a true feast for nature lovers.

    Manimahesh Lake, also known as Dal Lake, is a sacred high-altitude lake situated at approximately 14,500 feet (4,420 meters) above sea level, nestled close to the majestic Manimahesh Kailash peak. Here, you will have ample time to soak in the serene beauty of the surroundings and take part in any spiritual rituals you wish to perform.

    After enjoying your meal and soaking up the tranquil atmosphere, we will begin the descent toward Gauri Kund Base Camp, where we will spend the night surrounded by the pristine Himalayan wilderness.

    Trek Down to Hadsar and Return to Bharmour

    After an early breakfast, pack your lunch and begin the 14 km trek downhill to Hadsar. The trail offers stunning views of beautiful landscapes and snow-capped mountains, making the descent as rewarding as the ascent.

    Once we arrive at Hadsar, we will drive back to Bharmour and check into our hotel. After some well-deserved rest, take the opportunity to explore the local markets and shop for unique souvenirs and handicrafts for your family and friends.

    In the evening, return to the hotel to relax and share your memorable experiences with fellow trekkers. This marks the final day of our journey together. Overnight stay at Bharmour.

    Conclusion of Trek and Return to Pathankot

    Our trekking adventure comes to an end today. After enjoying a final breakfast together, we will check out from the hotel and begin our journey back to Pathankot. The drive will take approximately 7 to 8 hours, giving you time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences and memories made during the trek.
